PUERTO VALLARTA TO HOST “JAPANESE TODAY” Over 200 Japanese Artists to Exhibit 300 Works of Art in Puerto Vallarta NEW YORK – January 24, 2011 – Puerto Vallarta, home to one of the most embracing and dynamic art scenes in Mexico, will host an exhibition of contemporary Japanese art from July 1st to 15th, 2011 at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. “Japanese Today” will feature over 300 works of art ranging from traditional Japanese calligraphy, Kimono embroidery, and ceramics to contemporary oil paintings and three-dimension art. Co-sponsored by the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and the Japan International Artists Society, the exhibition will introduce works by more than 200 Japanese artists to the local art scene with the objective of showing the importance of traditional and contemporary art in Japanese culture and society.
